Minor Accounts

A PostCity Minor Account is a simple way to help young savers begin building healthy money habits. A $5 par value deposit is required to open the account, and an ATM card may be ordered for deposits and withdrawals.

Coverdell Education Savings Accounts

A Coverdell Education Savings Account, also called a CESA, is a tax-advantaged education savings account for qualified education expenses. The IRS says these accounts may be used for qualified elementary, secondary, and higher education expenses, and contributions are made in cash and are not tax-deductible.

At PostCity, the minimum deposit required to open an Educational IRA Share Account is $100. This is a tiered-rate account, and the applicable dividend rate and APY are paid on the entire average daily balance in the qualifying tier.

Coverdell ESAs are governed by specific IRS rules, including eligibility, contribution limits, and distribution requirements. The IRS states the designated beneficiary generally must be under age 18 when the account is established, unless the beneficiary is a special needs beneficiary.

PostCity Youth Certificates are available for eligible members under age 24 and are designed for focused saving with added flexibility. The minimum deposit to open is $100, and additional deposits may be made at any time during the term.

You must maintain a minimum average daily balance of $100 to earn the stated APY and avoid closure. Withdrawals are not allowed until maturity, and penalties apply for early withdrawal on certificates.
