90 Years in the Making

PostCity is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, so we are motivated by what is in your best interest instead of investor desires. Your initial savings deposit makes you a member and part owner of the credit union.
If you have your deposits and loans with a bank, their profits are paid out to investors and stockholders, not the account holders. We’ve been a cooperative since our founding in 1933, and 100% of the money we earn (after expenses and reserves) is returned to our members as higher savings returns, fewer fees, and lower loan rates—that’s the PostCity Financial Credit Union difference.
A Proud Postal Legacy

• SINCE 1933 •

In 1933, in the midst of the Great Depression, PostCity Financial Credit Union was founded as Long Beach Postal Credit Union by a small group of postal workers. Our founders believed that, by pooling their money and resources, they could make more affordable financial services more accessible to everyone of their coworkers. Their vision became reality, and for over 80 years we've provided affordable financial solutions to every member of the Long Beach postal community and their families.

2005

In 2005, we expanded our membership eligibility area to include the counties of Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside. To better reflect our expanded field of membership, we changed our name from Long Beach Postal Credit Union to Southern California Postal Credit Union.

2014

Then, in 2014, the credit union again charted new territory, and we changed our name one final time to PostCity Financial Credit Union. Our name reflects a vision for our credit union’s future and a purpose to our present all while staying true to our historical roots. While our name has changed, we are forever faithful to our heritage of serving the postal worker community and their families.

2023

Finally, in 2023, PostCity Financial Credit Union expanded our service once again. Now, current US Postal Service employees, retired US Postal Service employees, and members of their families throughout California are eligible for membership!

We are proud to serve members located across all of California, and you can continue to expect the same friendly, personal service from a team you know and trust. We look forward to serving our family of members—and many new generations of members—for many years to come!
